How to make your bug spray

  1. Fill the 500 ml bottle with warm water.
  2. Add 10 ml of neem oil.
  3. Add 15ml of liquid soapnut extract - you can make these by boiling approx. 6-8 soapnuts in 500ml of water for 10-15 minutes, then leave to cool and strain the mixture.
  4. Optionally, add 10 drops of essential oil (such as tea tree, citronella, eucalyptus,  or lavender).
  5. Shake well before each use.

How do you use this DIY bug spray?

  • Spray on window frames, curtains, mats or clothing to repel mosquitoes.
  • Spray on (or around) dog beds, compost bins, or doorways.
  • Use on houseplants and garden herbs against aphids, spider mites or thrips.
